The next project is also about a firewood rack, but this is slightly larger. While it doesn’t have a roof, the rack is large enough to store a significant quantity of firewood. If you are looking for a quick and cheap project (under 10$), this project is the right one for your needs. You can make several units if you have a larger quantity to store. MORE >>
Wow! What an awesome project!! I love this design and the concept is amazing, exactly what I was looking for! A utility shed and chicken coop combo I could build myself and the hubby too. So, here’s the beginner’s guide on how to build A DIY Chicken Coop – Storage Shed Combo. Not only is it a nice chicken house, but it is combined with a great storage shed, and they both look so nice in the yard. .
When looking for free shed plans consider the design, do you want it to match your house? Or do you want something that blends into your landscape?

The next project is also from MyOutdoorPlans, com. I really think this wood shed project stands out through it simplicity and super large storage capacity. As you can see in the image, this shed is very basic but I like the concept and the main idea is to keep the costs down. This shed would be ideal if you want to store large logs, such as for drying them a few years before splitting them to firewood. MORE >>
Even more than your actual yard space, you should also look at access space. Do you have room to maneuver a larger shed into your backyard? You can measure access points before you buy a 12×16 shed to figure this out. Keep in mind, that a 12×16 shed should have a 14′ wide access so there is room for the eves and a bit of extra.
A 12×16 shed can comfortably fit two small pieces of outdoor equipment, such as a lawn mower or a 4-wheeler. Keep in mind that if you store heavier items in your shed, such as a lawnmower or a 4-wheeler, you may want to add a shed ramp. If you want to learn more about shed ramps, read our “Shed Ramps: A Comprehensive Overview” article. Besides these two pieces of equipment, there will be room to maneuver them and walk around them. However, depending on your door placement, you may have to move one piece of equipment out of the shed before you can access the other piece of equipment.
This is our second shed through Mitch at Shed City USA. Didn’t even need to shop around because we are so happy with the first one. The second one was assembled on site and it was done efficiently and with quality workmanship. Communication was clear, concise and timely. No regrets at all! John F McCall 1 year ago
Fit the 1×4 purlins to the top of the shed. Place the purlins every 16″ on center. Use 1 5/8″ screws to secure the slats to the rafters.
